Abstract

Wearable device expectations have gone up enormously. The wearable antennas are primarily used in these wearable technologies for wireless body area network (WBAN) applications. Owing to its favorable features as lightweight, convenient, stretchable, versatile, inexpensive, low energy consumption, compact and promising results for military purposes, the WBAN application captured the attention of the researchers. Additionally, it needs a portable antenna that is secure, versatile enough, and works with the least deterioration within the body. A wearable antenna is intended to be a part of the communications clothing that involves tracking and navigation, mobile technology, public health and safety. The aim of this overview is to reveal miniaturized Textile Antenna Technologies and provide readers with the wearable antenna history that involves antenna layout, used substrates, and analyzes that must be performed to build better wearable antennas.
