Gender differences in Prospective Memory
Abstract
The aim of this study was to assess gender differences in self report measure of prospective memory among young adults. The sample consisted of 100 young adults within the age range of 21-26. Convenience sampling method was used to select the sample. The hypothesis of the study is there would be no significant gender difference in the self report measure of prospective memory in young adults. Prospective Memory Concerns Questionnaire (2015) was used to obtain the data. On analysing the data using Independent sample Mann-Whitney U test, it was found that males reported significant everyday memory failures than females, a dimension of prospective memory. Overall, there was no significant gender difference in the self report measure of prospective memory in young adults.
