Effectiveness Of Video Assisted Teaching On Knowledge Regarding Prevention Of Dengue Fever
Abstract
Background: - Dengue is the first epidemic and severe illness spread to all over the country.
As per report of WHO every year up to 500 million peoples are get infected, out of that 2 million peoples having hemorrhagic form and 20,000 peoples die due to dengue.
Methodology: - For present study one group pre test post test design was used, with an evaluative approach to assess the effectiveness of video assisted teaching progrmme on knowledge on prevention of the dengue fever among 8th standard students of KCT School of Karad taluka. For present study 100 students were selected by purposive sampling technique. Result:- In pre test 11 (11%) of students had good knowledge, 63(63%) of students had average and 26(26%) of students are having poor knowledge regarding Prevention of dengue fever .whereas in post test 24 (24%) of students had good knowledge, 67(67%) of students had average and 9(9 %) of students are having poor knowledge on Prevention of dengue fever.
About sociodemographic variables no significant association found with knowledge of students.
Conclusion : To educate students video assisted teaching is an effective method to increase the knowledge on prevention of dengue fever. With this we can reduce the no of cases infected with dengue and its complications.
