Load flow analysis in 3-M system using Facts controller
Abstract
Now days the demand for power increases more rapidly in the power generation and transmission and distribution systems sectors. The aim of this paper is to study models and procedures for assessing the steady-state operation of electrical power systems at a fundamental frequency. The reactive power flow in the line will be regulated to improve stability. Several literatures propose methods / techniques to improve the power system stability in the position of the FACTS controllers and the coordination of the FACTS. One of the shortcomings of such methods is that they only take into account the normal state of the system. The power flow in the systems can be controlled flexibly with the FACTS controllers. Based on the steady-state model of the FACTS devices, this paper analyzes the controllability of the power flow and analyzes the power flow control ranges. The paper sets out the implementation of the FACTS in the POPF method.
