Using e-Learning and Conventional in Blended Model in Writing Class

Abstract

Teaching learning has used the e- Learning and Conventional in Blended Model. Many experts have recommended Blended Model in teaching learning recently. This study was carried out to implement Blended Teaching Model to improve students’ Writing skill. A comparative Design was used in the implementation of e- Learning, Conventional and Blended Teaching Techniques. Three different techniques were compared to a Blended Model in Writing Class. The research with E learning took 5 sessions and Conventional for 5 sessions too. The Blended Model for the 5 sessions was conducted in the Fourth Semester of English Education Department Universitas Asahan of Indonesia. The findings show that e -Learning and Conventional can be combined as a Blended Model. Students did the activity in their homes via online which was not done in class rooms and made the re-statements from lecturers outside the class rooms. It concluded that the implementation of e- Learning and Conventional were not enough to increase the students’ scores over the minimal standard. On the other hand, the Blended Teaching Model increased the means of scores from under the minimal standard 55 to 65. The Blended Model in Writing class has made few changes of teaching learning process such as medium and interactions and benefits of using educational technology.
