Abstract

The aim of this study is to mention the dynamics in Indonesia as the nation state in appreciating unity in diversity. Indonesia has a population of 267 million people with 1,340 tribes, 300 ethnic groups, 1211 regional languages, multy cultures, geographies, climates, religions, and different groups. By showing the fact of plurality as a necessity, there should be no unnecessary debate about the fact of our nation's pluralism, so the spirit of Bhineka Tunggal Ika (unity in diversity) must be the spirit of every citizen in Indonesia. Thus the energy of this nation is not wasted to debate the unnecessary, so that the people of Indonesia can fulfill the dream, which is to be a sovereign, and prosperous nation just as has been established in the preamble of the 1945 Constitution, that as a large sovereign nation in the international arena, Indonesia actively involved in creating lasting peace.
