Abstract

This study is mainly focused on evaluating the erosive properties of Xanthan Gum (XG) treated Dispersive soils (DS) by using Hole Erosion Test Apparatuses. Two types of soils were treated with 1% XG for 7, 30, 60, and 90-days of incubation time. The crucial parameters like Erosion Rate ( and Hydraulic Shear Stress  were determined for treated samples, and Erosion Rate Index ( was calculated. From the results from HET, it was observed that addition as incubation time increased, soil gain resistance towards higher hydraulic stresses and erosion rate decreases sharply for 28days KN sample and 60 days for TN samples. Erosion Rate Index (of soil increases from 2.43 to 4.86 for the KN sample and 2.15 to 4.93 for the TN sample
