Indonesian Legal Policy of Corporate Social Responsibility to Realize Sustainable Development

Abstract

This study aims to formulate a legal policy of corporate social responsibility to realize sustainable development in Indonesia by providing legal certainty in its implementation. This study uses the doctrinal approach as its basis. It is categorized as a descriptive study, which is aimed to explain the research object. The identification process was done by looking at the causal factors which influenced the failure of the sustainable corporate social responsibility implementation in Indonesia. The findings of this study showed the increase of funds regarding CSR. It was evidenced by the increase in corporate social responsibility budget allocations of several big companies. Therefore, the government must formulate sustainable corporate social responsibility regulations and optimize the implementation of Law Number 40 of 2007 concerning limited liability company. In this case, the funds obtained can be used for the community’s economic empowerment and environmental sustainability.
