ANALYSIS AND DESIGN OF PLUS(+) PLAN BUILDING USING CFD PACKAGE OF ANSYS

Abstract

An analysis has been done under varying wind directions to understand the behavior of various surfaces of a plus (+) plan shaped building using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) package of ANSYS. The length scale is considered to be 1 : 300. The flow pattern of wind on all sides of the building has been shown for varied wind incident angles from 00 – 1500 with increment of 300 using streamlines spaced equally. Contour plots are used to show the variation of wind pressure on distinct surfaces of structure.
