Abstract

In this paper enhanced design of a multiple type antenna with microstrip-dipole is proposed with wideband bandwidth of dual polarization. Significant parts of the multiple-antenna are a slot coupler of cross shape, a radiator for radiating signal, set of baluns for the micro-strip and a reflector for reflecting the signals. During the excitation of feeder, distribution of power is done in the slot coupler of cross shape which divides the power equally in four slots, generating differential signals in the slot lines at the four ends. Then coupling of the signals is done to the four dipoles of modified type for radiating and synthesizing at a slant angle of ±45 degree for linear polarization. Verification of the proposed design is done by fabricating the prototype and testing the antenna. Simulated results are obtained which agree with the measured values with the impedance bandwidth of wide range 3.99 GHz to 5.17 GHz with higher isolation between one port and another port higher than 39 dB in the operating range of frequency value providing optimal radiation pattern. On the other hand, design of proposed micro-strip antenna has a compact dimensional structure ranging 0.75λ0 X 0.75 λ0 X 0.16 λ0.
