Metamaterial Inspired Triple Band Antenna with Improved Isolation

Abstract

In this paper a novel triband MIMO antenna is proposed for ISM, WIMAX, UAV, C-band and X band application. The structure consist of two element and the distance between them is equal to 1mm. The entire structure is fabricated on a FR-4 substrate with 4.4 as relative permitivitty and the overall size of the 40mm x 100mm x 1.6mm.  The proposed antenna offers the operation in the frequency range 2.01 GHz to 2.69 GHz which is used for ISM application, 3.54 GHz to 4.26 GHz which is used for WiMAX and UAV application and 4.81 GHz to 9.98 GHz which covers the C and X band application. The isolation of the proposed structure is maintained above 20dB in the operating range without any additional matching circuits. Various performance metrics are simulated and presented in this paper.
