Abstract

The development of the world has led to increase the demand for energy utilization.  Vapour Absorption Refrigeration (VAR) system usually runs with heat energy. Absorption system which runs with waste heat will be more effective. The source of waste heat is the exhaust gas from a 1.5L diesel engine. Practical analysis of the VAR system is more time and money consuming. In order to save the time and money the VAR system is analysed analytically. The analytical analysis of the system is done in SageMath 9.0. A simple VAR system is designed based on various conditions studied. Thermodynamic calculation is derived for the designed VAR cycle using mass and energy balance as a concept. The heat transfer across various components of the system is determined by SageMath 9.0. COP is found for various heat inputs from the exhaust temperature of the diesel engine. COP is compared with various generator temperatures and the heat transfer across various components of the system is also compared with different temperatures of the VAR system. The performance of the VAR system under various conditions is calculated. The results show that an increase in the input temperature increases the performance of the system.
