Analysis of Quality Indicators of Sizing Warp Threads

Abstract

The article substantiates the sizing materials, which are used to increase the strength of the warp threads in production of fabrics and preparation of the size penetrating into the threads, forming smooth film in the surfaces of the threads in foregoing process, i.e. in weaving process reducing thread breakages. In the textile industry of our Republic at present, the main polymer used for sizing cotton warp threads is natural starch. Specifically described reduction of the starch consumption, which is food product of cornstarch mixing with chitazines and is used to reduce the cost of sizing materials used for sizing warp threads. Therefore, the new sizing composition that consists of chitazines and is characterized by smaller amount of polysaccharides and starch is of particular importance in the process. According to the results of the research, we can see that the use of new structure of sizing material leads to the formation of a smooth film on the surface of the cotton fiber, and also defined that the strength of the threads is increased by 33% and the breakage of the threads during weaving is reduced by 17%.
