Design of slotted Microstrip Patch Antenna with etched Ground Plane for Ku & Ka band applications Using HFSS
Abstract
In this work, a microstrip patch antenna of rectangular structure withslots in ground plane and patch is designed and simulated. It provides better antenna performance for satellite communication band at 12 GHz, satellite communication uplinks at 30 GHz and also for 5th generation mobile networks. The proposed design has a pair of two slots imprinted from both ground plane and patch of microstrip antenna (MSA) to enable other frequency bands. Low dielectric constant can provide better performance. The resultant design is more compact of size 4mm X 8mm with substrate ofRogers RT Duroidehaving 0.8 mm thickness.
