Real-time transformation of 5G Wireless communication from dream to reality will relies on the hands of the fiber optic communication. The improvements of 5G is expected to achieve huge system capacity, increased energy efficiency, reduced latency and provides access to numerous number of devices which are connected. Even though the communication is tend to be wireless, it is necessary to create a optic fiber wired backbone to support and provide solutions for all the challenges of 5G wireless communication. The Quality of Service (QoS) will become better along with increased speed of communication and greater network capacity. This provides the truly realistic experience in virtual Reality. This paper deals with the survey of optical communication model with its principles, standards & modulation schemes along with a strong comparison to highlight the importance of optical technology in future generation communication.
