Technological Sources Influencing Technology Integration in Social Studies Teaching in Jordanian School

Abstract

The purpose of this qualitative research study was to examine the technological sources influencing technology integration in social studies teaching in a Jordanian school. The case study method was chosen because the research questions sought to explore technological sources influencing technology integration in teaching. In Jordan, little research qualitative empirical research has investigated the level of the sources of technology that have been carried out for educational purposes. Therefore, this paper intends to identify the importance of the technological sources of teachers in technology integration in teaching. These data were analyses using a thematic analysis approach, semi-structured interview interviews and observation were used as instruments to collect data. Six social studies teachers participated in this study.  The findings of this study showed that there was a consensus by all teachers on the importance of the availability of technology resources to obtain successful technology integration in classrooms. Moreover, to fulfil successful technology integration in the classroom, there must be a technological environment that is available to support technology integration in teaching.
