APE- A Pre-Emptive Strike Device for Women Safety with Automated Pepper Gel
Abstract
In today's world, women are not limited to their homes but they have numerous issues with respect to their security reasons. They are forced to experience different troublesome circumstances and need to fortify themselves each time. To enforce protection for women, the Government has provided standards and guidelines to the general public for their security and wellbeing. In spite of the fact that there are many existing frameworks for women security, there is a need for a cutting edge shrewd security framework. In this paper, we propose one such safety system for women which comprises a pepper gel, an accelerometer and a piezo-buzzer. When the woman is in danger, the proposed APE device, worn on the wrist, will automatically be activated by gesture movement of the arm, once if the gesture matches and frequency threshold in the vocabulary is met, the alarm will be turned on and the pepper gel will be activated and sprayed on the attacker. The victim also has the option of disarming the pepper gel manually using a button provided. Pepper gel stupefies the attacker for about 45 minutes, which gives the victim enough time to find a safe-house. This device provides the user with an initial defense mechanism.
