Abstract

This study particularly examines the root causes of employee attrition in IT companies. The main intent of the study is to examine perceptions of employees on job hopping in select 6 companies. It also aimed to study the consequences of welfare measures and retention strategies formulated to reduce the attrition in select IT companies. Based on this a proper understanding of the job change among employees frequently will be analyzed.

The study made an attempt to find the key reasons leading to attrition in large, medium and small scale IT Firms in Hyderabad. The study focused on the Various Retention strategies adopted by companies to retain employees. Various tests were applied like Analysis of Variance, Factor Analysis, t-test, Chi- square, Descriptive analysis, Aggregate Perception to the collected data and interpretations and findings were drawn on the basis of this analysis.
