Abstract

Unified Power Quality Compensator (UPQC) is utilized to safeguard the sensitive loads in the distribution network from the upsets caused due to voltage and current. Control strategies utilized in both series and shut converters are the ground work that shows the ability of UPQC to compensate throughout the transient condition, load disturbances and source side disturbances, the typical adaptive hysteresis controller PWM process has flopped to trace accurately the reference signal. In this work, the proposal of fuzzy hysteresis controller for three phase four wire UPQC to restitute the harmonics of current and voltage, sag/swell around source voltage and compensation of neutral current is implemented. The compensation of power quality issues throughout the transient condition is performed efficiently by fuzzy adaptive hysteresis controller. Here, the simulation of both the typical and suggested techniques is analyzed comparatively using MATLAB/Simulink tool
