Analysis of the Life and Contributions of Dr. Ibrahim Jalo Muhammad in the Field of Da’awah (Islamic Propagation) in Taraba State Nigeria

Abstract

This research undertakes an in-depth analysis of the life and contributions of Sheikh Dr. Ibrahim Jalo Muhammad in the field of Da’awah (Islamic propagation) in Taraba state, Nigeria. This is built on the premise that there are a lot of lessons to be learnt in the Da’awah efforts of the Shaikh, particularly by upcoming scholars. The research work also reviews related literature generated from books, journals, dissertations, thesis, articles, conference proceedings, internet sources and conducted interviews, with focus on the activities of the Shaikh. After the analysis the research found that Shaikh Ibrahim Jalo has made numerous contributions in the field of literature and book publications on Shari’ah. His contributions also involved improving the living standard of the Muslim Ummah by urging them to go to school, join politics and engaging themselves in artisan activities. Recommendations were made for the promotion of Da’awah in the light of the activities of Shaikh Ibrahim Jalo in consideration of methods deployed by other scholars. It was submitted among other recommendations that there is need for unity among Muslim Du’at in order to confront the challenges facing Muslims and achieve one goal i.e the promotion of Islam.
