Cuk Converter Based Power Quality Improved EV Charger

Abstract

Now a days battery powered electric vehicles are dominating over the conventional gasoline powered vehicle. For charging the battery in electric vehicle a high power battery charger is used. Various types of on-board and off-board chargers are available now a days. In this work the Bridgeless cuk converter based charger is designed and developed with high power factor and increased efficiency. This charger integrates fewer components and improves efficiency and reduces the additional losses in conduction. In this proposed system line current distortion is reduced and the total harmonic distortion (THD) is reduced in supply current.
