Comparative Analysis of Standalone SPV System with LUT and P&O MPPT Algorithm

Abstract

PhotoVoltaic (PV) power production gathers greater attention recently while the main problems associated with  the  PV cells are lower power transformation efficiency, high rate and nonlinear nature of output power. Inorder to ensure the working of PV system at its Maximum Power Point(MPP), Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) method employed with power converter   is utilised for harnessing  maximum accessible power from source to load irrespective of any changes in environmental conditions. In this paper, a relative study is made for a standalone system with Look Up Table (LUT) and  Perturb & Observe (P&O) MPPT controllers.  Flat and linear interpolation LUT techniques are also analysed. MATLAB/SIMULINK  based simulation is done and  results for tracking rate, steady state fluctuations and efficiency are analysed.
