Abstract

Routing protocol for Low power lossy networks can be thought of as an efficient IPv6 protocol proposed for LLN, Since these networks are resource constrained and power constrained the energy in the battery operated nodes are meant to deplete.RPL has many limitations out of which load balancing is prominent, in recent years many works have been proposed as Load balancing strategies for efficiently balancing the load of a network. In this paper a survey on different solutions proposed for combating the load balancing issues is carried out and also possible future avenues in RPL for low power lossy networks is detailed.
