Abstract

The automotive chassis acts as framework to support body and various parts automobile. Also, it must withstand sudden shock, twist, vibration and other stresses caused by forces triggered by centrifugal force and its components while in corner, accelerating, shocking road conditions. The chassis serves as backbone of heavy vehicle, with maximum overhead for all design operating conditions. This paper describes design and analysis heavy vehicle chassis as the main objective of any automobile industry in today's rapidly changing world. The relevant information existing heavy vehicle chassis in present paper replaces high specific weight materials with low density materials without reducing rigidity and durability. Replacement of steel with aluminum, magnesium and alloys is taken for modeling. Computer-aided design software using Catia and Analytics is loaded into single frame as framework. Numerical results can be verified with analytical computation taking into account stress distribution and deformation using ANSI software.
