Synthesis and Characterization of CoMo/γ.Al2O3 Nano Catalyst Using Hybrid Copreciptation - Ultrasonic Impregnation Route
Abstract
The present work involves using a new hybrid route to synthesis nano CoMo/γ.Al2O3 Catalyst, by coprecipitation method for y alumina from aluminum chlorides hexahydrate and ammonium hydroxide in ethanol medium and then nano CoMo/γ.Al2O3 catalyst by impregnation method using cobalt nitrate and ammonium hepta Molybdate on the prepared nano (γ.Al2O3) support. They are then characterized by X-ray diffraction, atomic force microscope, field emission scanning electron microscope. FESEM image revealed that average size of oxide (27.07 nm), molybdenum (30.50 nm), cobalt nanoparticle (27.0l nm), and CoMo/γ.Al2O3 (26.64 nm).
The average particle diameter calculated from AFM for Co NPs, Mo NPs, γ.Al2O3 NPs and CoMo/γ.Al2O3.NPs are 52.72 nm, 32.82 nm, 66.52 nm and 76.70 nm respectively.
