Abstract

The transmission rate of secondary user in cognitive radio is limited by the channel response and intervention to principal user. For this reason it is essential to assign optimum power for secondary user in cognitive radio. The optimum power reduces the interference with keeping the higher capacity of the cognitive radio network. In this paper, moth flame optimization technique is applied to the power assignment problem of network. The transmission rate of cognitive radio network with power assignment to 16 numbers of subcarrier is maximized for different power budgets and allowed interference level. The implementation of the optimization method is successfully achieved with required convergence.
