Abstract

The conventional energy sources are being depleted while at the same time the energy demand is growing, so it is important to consider non-conventional energy-generating techniques to meet future energy demands. The contingencies in microgrid while synchronizing the conventional and nonconventional energy sources are voltage instability, reactive power and under or over frequency. This paper proposes a synchronized voltage control for maintaining the voltage in a stable state of the considered microgrid in a smart distribution network. The microgrid system consists of Photo Voltaic / Wind / Battery / Diesel Generator are considered as an energy source and a battery as an energy storage device. The Interleaved buck and boost converters replace the usage of conventional converters. The proposed control scheme employs Pulse Width Modulation procedures to legalize the maximum power output from the interleaved boost converter. An artificial intelligence technique called a Fuzzy Logic control algorithm is used for the charging and discharging process of the battery. The Simulation is done in MATLAB Simulink environment.
