Abstract

Partial shading of PV arrays will reduce the power delivered by the PV systems and the arrays also exhibit multiple peaks in its characteristics. Hence, the losses due to partial shading will be more. To track more power from PV, numerous MPPT algorithm were proposed. However, the conventional MPPT methods will fail to work under partial shading condition. Hence, this work proposes a new hybrid algorithm to track the maximum output power from PV arrays under partially shaded condition. Proposed PSODE method has fast convergence, better dynamic performance, easy implementation and high efficiency than PSO. To verify the effectiveness of the propsoed topology, it was simulate using MATLAB simulation. From the results, it is evident that reduces the fluctuation in the output waveform and thereby improves the efficiency.
