Determinants of Emotional Intelligence and Its Impact: An Empirical Research among University Students during the Covid-19 Lockdown Period in Coimbatore

Abstract

The study was designed to investigate the relationship as well as the impact of Emotional Intelligence (EI) among the University Students during the Covid-19 lockdown period. It identifies the causes of emotional intelligence among the students and examines the influence on the overall emotive level among the learners. In this process, the authors applied Emotional Intelligence (EI), index to measure the level of EI, applied appropriate statistical tools to draw inferences. Dominant determinants of Emotional intelligence are narrated into emotional stability, managing relations, education aspiration, and locus of control with the help of factors analysis. The results of the findings will go a long way in policy decision of higher educational institution across the nation.
