Abstract

In search of better fuel efficiency and less emission of effluent from the Internal combustion engine (ICE) propelled vehicle inspired researcher to develop the Hybrid Electric Vehicle( HEV). The auxiliary source in HEV fulfils the dynamic power demand of a vehicle.  This paper presents a controller based on fuzzy logic for energy management between the primary and auxiliary source of a vehicle. The objective of the controller is to maximize efficiency and minimized the emission with the constraints of battery state of charge.  The fuzzy controller using geometrical mean is taken for determination of fuzzy set centre.  The simulation results show better fuel efficiency and low GHG emission from a vehicle.
