Abstract

A face recognition system is one of the bio-metric systems that is used for personal identification of a person. It is easier to apply and less complex when compared to other bi-metric systems such as finger prints and retina scanning. This paper focuses on providing secure locking automation using IOT technology. The use cases for this application are homes, banks, lockers and every other area that requires secure locking. In addition to IOT, various other algorithms for image processing, face detection and recognition have been used. Whenever a face is detected, it is recognized by comparing with a list of faces in database. If there is a match, the relay unlocks the door. Otherwise, the door remains locked. Thus, the idea of security is enhanced through this system.
