Abstract

The modified p91 grade steel is mostly used in new generations of power plants where it under goes many kind of welding process and mostly all of them requires pre and post heat treatment mandatory, we here to discuss usage one of the post heat treatment before and after which helps to identify the usage and limitations of post heat treatment. The secondary objective is to identify the filler ER308L rod suitable for welding the grade p91 or not, was the SEM images helps to identify crack formation which helps to understand the limitation and here we also discuss properties of the material before and after post heat treatment. In our present invention of project we manly concentrate on welding characteristic and here we also studying hardness and tensile strength of the material which helps us to understand the limitation of the welded 9Cr-1Mo which under gone through a particular process mentioned in the methodology.
