Opportunities and Challenges in the Evolution of Electric Vehicles
Abstract
Electric vehicles (EV) are attaining more popularity owing to their environmental-friendly operation. The merits of electric vehicles are pollution-free usage and restricted greenhouse emission. EVs produce less noise, have a simple construction and reduced fuel cost when compared with conventional vehicles. Integration with the grid through the Vehicle to Grid (V2G) allows becoming energy independent and financial benefit through bidirectional charging. The major challenges faced towards the EV adaptation are the charging woes, lack of power, initial cost, inadequate charging stations, and security. This paper focuses on providing insight into the future growth of modern electric vehicles.
