Analysis and Design of Student Worksheet Based on Project Based Learning to Stimulate the Critical Thinking Ability of Slow Learner Students

Abstract

Critical thinking is the ability a person has to assess by analyzing and evaluating information with certain standards and criteria. Teaching materials that contain critical thinking skills are effective learning resources for achieving learning goals. This study aims to analyze and design teaching materials in the form of student worksheet with a project based learning model based on learning to improve the critical thinking skills of slow learner students. Development of worksheet designs using the ADDIE model. The research subjects were slow learner students of class VIII of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Pundong. Data collection instruments used observation guidelines, interview guidelines, and documentation. Observations were carried out to obtain data about the curriculum and teaching materials used. Interviews are used to obtain data about student characteristics. While documentation is used to document all the things needed in the development of teaching materials in the form of this student worksheet. Data analysis in this research consisted of reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The analysis phase is used to determine the need for developing teaching materials. The design phase is used to develop student worksheet teaching materials as needed. The results showed that no student worksheet was suitable for Project Based Learning. Teachers need worksheets that match the characteristics of slow learner students. This worksheet design can be used as a reference by teachers to develop student-based project worksheets based on learning so that students' critical thinking skills increase.
