Ensuring Security on the Cloud Depending on Network Virtualization and Centralized Controller Architecture
Abstract
In spite of the swift development in cloud computing field, one of the lasting major obstacles remaining is security. In this research project, we will explore the middle ground, where users are still able to share hardware resource and simultaneously be isolated, and accesses are controlled in a familiar method to that in organizations’ networks. We introduce an architecture which benefits from network virtualization to ensure security on the cloud. However, large number virtualized workloads are being utilized insecurely as an outcome of the inefficiency of staff, resellers and consultants along with the immaturity of processes and tools. This architecture will overcome scalability boundaries of previous solutions based on VLANs, along with enabling users to customize security policy settings similar to how they control their on-site network. We intend to identify and analyze virtualization security attacks in the cloud environment. We believe this work will cover most of what individual users and enterprise require.
