A STUDY ON OUTLOOK OF CSR PRACTICES IN BANKING AND SERVICE SECTORS FROM AN EMPLOYEE PERSPECTIVE

Abstract

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) can be delineated as an approach by which an association sees that its activities broadly influence the overall population wherein it works, and that upgrades in the general public on its ability to look for after its business sustainability. Corporate social duty is raising theme in the cutting edge business world. Representatives are crucial resources for any association. CSR has a remarkable impact on the employee's performance. This paper recognises the intention to measure awareness of employees, core area of CSR activity, areas of contribution, benefits and knowledge associated among employees under service sector and banking sector. This study is based on 100 valid responses received through a structured questionnaire. Data collected was examined by using percentages, graphical representation and statistical tools like Chi-square, Correlation Coefficient and Multi variable regression. From the examination it was recognized that there is distinction in level of awareness in employees among the banking sector and service sector; volunteering is the core CSR activity in banking sector whereas blood donation is the one in service sector; Monetary benefits builds employee association in banking sector while non-monetary related advantages is the explanation behind employee inclusion in service sector; in addition to this, demographic variable such as age has a positive impact.
