A STUDY ON CHANGE IN SCENARIO OF DROP OUT RATES OF TRIBAL STUDENTS OF RAJEEV GANDHI MEMORAIL RESIDENTIAL SCHOOL NOOLPUZHA , SULTHAN BATHERY, WAYANAD,KERALA.

Abstract

The prime objective of this study is to have a clear idea about the adjustments that tribal students have to face and also the factors that are leading the students of the residential school to excel in every aspects that is differentiating the residential schools students from the normal schools in which tribals students are studying. The factors that are leading the students to excel are using of modern teaching aids, Support from their parents and teachers, guidance from the government, proper facilities in the schools that would lead the students to have interest towards their studies and some of the suggestion that are being found out during the research process if it would be clearly rectified then the main aim of the research paper can be attained and it can lead towards the betterment of tribal community and would help them to contribute towards the society like others they also get a proper guidance to excel in their area of interest. The data collection in being done from residential school, Noolpuzha, Wayanad, the students studying there are from a community known as Kattunayakan (Primitive tribes) and they would reside normally in forest area from where these students are being given an opportunity to seek admissions in in residential schools so that they can get a chance to get education and they won’t have barriers like financial instability, lack of proper road and bridges, unavailability of proper foods, and the main problem these students face are that they would have their younger once in there house they are born to take care them so their parents would force them to stay at home to look after their younger once, so these problems can be eradicated if the suggestions so formulated would be cleared. The objective of this study is to prove that the residential system of schooling would improve the scenario of dropout rates, Improved educational facilities in the school would improve the interest of the students, Learned teachers provide proper guidance to the students in attending the classes regularly, Proper guidance and Support from family helps the students to outperform in their studies.
