PERFORMANCE EVALUATION AND CFD INVESTIGATION FOR THEAIR - OIL SEPARATION IN INDUSTRIAL SEPARATOR
Abstract
The Oil flooded screw compressor are being widely used in industrial as well as commercial gas processing applications. The higher efficient oil flooded screw compressor design demands for least energy losses. The requirements of efficient oil flooded screw compressor can be accomplished by higher Air – Oil separation efficiency and lesser system pressure drop continuous improvement on pressure drop of each subsystem in compressor higher the pressure drop means lesser efficient system.so in this paper we perform aCFD Analysis of air oil separator of existing system installed in ARIHANT ENGINNERING model and Check performance of the existing Air oil separator, compare the experimental data with CFD results and validate the model so with the help of this CFD simulations predict and evaluate performance of Liquid–Gas separator efficiency The work demonstrated in this paper is use of ‘computational fluid dynamics (CFD)’ simulations to predict and evaluate performance of Liquid–Gas separator efficiency as well as pressure drop characteristic in a tangential inlet cyclone and validate it with exit industrial data. The RNG k –e in association with porosity are applied for modeling of highly swirling turbulent flow. The study of Air -Oil separation and pressure drop in cyclone separator by one-way coupled DPM is done
