Money Power and Muscle Power: Hurdles for conducting Fair Elections

Abstract

Money power and Muscle power are the two important hurdles for conducting fair elections. Political parties mainly focus on winning the elections, therefore to achieve this they use any method however unfair it may be. Political parties nominate those candidates who can raise money for contesting elections and also support candidates with criminal backgrounds in order to win elections. The main objective of the paper is to know how common people are influenced by the leaders during the elections by using their money and Muscle power. The researcher has followed empirical research and a convenient sampling method. A total of 200 samples have been collected. The results show that that money power and muscle power is one of the major reasons why fair elections are not conducted.
