Abstract

Majority of the pollutants of oceans come from off the  sea coast activities such as plastic accumulation and floating plastics. The marine pollution started as an eye opener in the 1970s when there was a boom in the tourism sector globally. India is blessed with three main coastal points and ocean Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea; thesethree coastal points adjoin all major urban cities that contribute to the beach tourism.  Most of these runs through many important urban coastal cities that leads to India’s way to becoming one of the finest beach destinations visited by tourists all over the world. This Paper analyses the impact of the tourism industry and tourists from various parts of the world and the impact it causes on the marine environments in spite of economic development. The sample size is 200. The researcher has followed an empirical method and a convenient sampling method.
