GENDER INEQUALITY IN EDUCATION IN INDIA

Abstract

Education is a vital method to empower individuals socially, economically, politically and culturally. By recognizing this reality, different educational systems and policies have been implemented by the Government of India. The challenges patterns in concentrating on essential to primary, secondary and higher education. Since the pilgrim time frame is clearly visible in the implementations of various approaches, policies and programmes from time to time. India, being democratic country, a great arrangement of consideration and significance have been given to all forms of education for promoting the welfare of the citizens of nations. Accordingly, education turned into a pre-essential for the acquisition of knowledge, enhancement of skills development attitudes and values and so forth. However, there is still an earnest need to make education accessible to all citizens of the country. It is essentially in light of the fact that gender inequality in all stage of education as far the gross enrollment ratio, gender differentiation in terms of educational literacy, huge gender gap in  enrollment in science and expression subject; poor enrolments of girls in higher education; gender bias in educational program and self-learning material; arrangement in specific position in schools and school committee as well as higher educational institutions and so in have adversely affected the Indian educational system. These circumstances have made accessibility, value and quality in education, around a long way. In case India being a democratic country requests actual democratization of education with the goal that every person of this nation can get to quality education in an equivalent manner. This paper endeavoured to analyse the gender inequality framework in the Indian educational system and proposed measures on how accessibility, value and equality education can be guaranteed to this citizen of India.
