STUDY ON STRATEGY OF EMBEDDING EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS INTO LEARNING MODULE, CASE: TRAINING OF COMPETENCY ASSESSOR

Abstract

This study identified the strategy on embedding the employability skills into learning module for Training of Competency Assessor. This study uses a Research and Development (R & D) method, with a Case Study research approach. Survey the need employability skills embedded into unit of competency was conducted, and 126 assessor and master assessor of competency, and assessment practitioner are participated. The survey identified that from the three units of competency for Assessor of Competency, the need for employability skills of the stakeholders in the case of competency assessor training is very contextual in the elements of the importance of each learning module. The result of this study identified that embedding employability skills into module are critical to involve the participation of stake holder. From this study, strategy of embedding employability into the learning module is identified, which include: 1) Identify the learning objectives; 2) Conduct survey the need of employability skills to the stake holder of assessor development; and 3) embed the employability skills and it facets into the elements of unit of competency, and based this strategy, the competency standard of embedding employability skills into learning module are developed. The limitation of this study lies on its scope of Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
