A Post Occupancy Evaluation of Green Building for TREES Rating in Thailand

Abstract

Nowadays, energy-saving and sustainable environments are becoming one of the most important aspects of Thailand, especially in the building and construction industry. Green Building Index for energy and environmental concern has been developed by Thai government. The number of green buildings is rapidly increased according to the concerns of energy consumption and environmental impact. Present, green buildings in Thailand that certified in LEED, TREES and GREEN MARK.

This paper was focused on Post Occupancy Evaluation in Green Building were TREES certified that concern in temperatures, humidity, carbon dioxide (CO2), light, and noise. The case study is Building A is located at Chaeng Watthana Road, Bang Talat Subdistrict, Pak Kred District Nonthaburi Province. It is a school and office building with 16 floors with a total floor area of 28,144 sq.m. The building was a construction design for building energy conservation. The case study building was assessed  TREES  certified at the Gold Level of  New Construction Building to follow Thai’s Rating of Energy and Environmental Sustainability. This study was energy a survey in temperatures, humidity, carbon dioxide (CO2), light, and noise data on the tenth floor that is the office area. Data collection in this paper measure inside building at 4 positions. The measurement in this research survey on 5 days for finding average data from 9.00-9.30 am, 11.30-12.00 am, 3.30-4.00 pm. This paper found that the green building which certified TREES was comfortable zone follow to Green rating. Moreover, this finds that facility management can support green building performance.
