Fault Current Analysis For Various Faults In High Voltage Line For Travelling Wave Based Protection

Abstract

 In power systems, analysis of the faults is a significant work. In this paper, different types of faults were created at different locations in transmission line. Fault locators were installed at both the ends of transmission line. Current waveforms are taken at both ends when fault occurs. Travelling wave-based techniques is implemented to analyse the fault distance. Emphasis was given on developing Matlab Simulink model to analyze this method. The model pick up different fault types and determine fault distances, thus providing précised analysis in a timely manner. In this manner, various types of fault are analyzed in power systems.
