Abstract

To decide ideal or close to ideal cutting conditions in different sorts of metal cutting procedure enhancement issues, it joins the utilization of at least one of the current demonstrating and streamlining strategies, making the system a bound together and compelling mean. The Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) is one of the most notable and most recognized non-ordinary machining process used. In this present work a prediction is made for optimal set of parameters from a cluster for maximum material removal rate (MRR) and minimum tool wear rate (TWR). A cluster of experiments based on L9 array obtained by Taguchi method are performed for four input parameter (peak current, pulse on time, pulse off time and gap voltage), each of them having 3 levels of values. The results of each set of experiment is recorded for evaluating MRR and TWR. The results acquired for MRR and TWR are analysed using TOPSIS method for determination of optimal set of process parameters of EDM which gives maximum MRR and minimum TWR. Results obtained here show that the model adopted here has an acceptable performance for optimization.
