Heat Transfer Enhancement and Friction Characteristics of Sah Equilateral Triangular Duct using Coarseness

Abstract

In this experimental work,Consequence of using artificial coarseness on the collector plate of SAH has been studied.  Circular ribs attached to the collector plate at an angle ofattack (α) of 60° and relative coarseness height (e/D) of 0.021which have been used to provide artificial coarseness. The experimental study has been executed over various Reynolds number from 4000 to 27000 and relative coarsenesspitch (p/e)varies from 8 to 16. Nusselt number and friction factor has been evaluated for various coarseness variables. The augmentation in heat transfer and friction factor have also been compared with the polished collector plate.
