Hybridization Electric Discharge Machining: A review

Abstract

The miniaturization of technology and products in global current scenario create a need of necessity to develop a new technology to meet the requirement. The machining / finishing is a essential part of any manufacturing process and the miniaturization of technology create a need to invent a machining processes for micro and nanoscale machining, for high strength alloys, for sensitive material and environment. The hybridization is the way to satisfy the adverse machining conditions by combining the two or many machining processes. The current work reviewed the assistance of electric discharge machining by various other processes or energy and influence of Laser assistance to many other process by discussing their positive and negative aspects.
