Role of Digitization and Technology in the Recruitment of Junior Level Software Engineers in the Information Technology Sector

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to make an attempt to find the impact of technology on the recruitment process of junior level software engineers in the information and technology sector. The paper also gives suggestions on how we can make use of new technologies to optimize the hiring process. Primary research is used for finding the benefits of technology in the hiring process in information technology companies. The author has used statistical tools to analyze the impact of the factors affecting the hiring process. The existing practices of leading IT companies are studied for better understanding. Hiring methods used by the organization, time to hire, employee onboarding experience all play a very important role and hence the study takes into consideration all of these to determine the impact of digitization and technology. The results should help HR managers to select better hiring techniques for the organization. Despite the huge number of placements at the campus level, there is a little study done on the recruitment process. The present study explores this topic with a particular focus on junior level software engineers. The findings will also help to decide whether to use Artificial Intelligence for a particular company’s hiring process or not.
