CFD Analysis of Single and Double Perforation Fins Using Heat Sink

Abstract

In this present study we did CFD on the thermal analysis of pin fins on various numbers and size of perforations. We use two different types of perforation one is single perforation and other is double perforation. The size of the perforated pin fins are takes as 4 mm respectively. We examine the heat transfer coefficient and temperature on different flow velocities at constant heat input. From CFD analysis results shows that the single perforated pin fin shows higher heat dissipation as compare to the double perforated pin fin. It is used for the electrical component such as computer processors, high power laser, industries, etc.
