Abstract

In the Philippines, an institution is assessed through its graduates. Elementary Education graduates’ passing the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) implies the quality of education and training provided by their institution. This study examined the trend of Elementary Education graduates performance in the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) for 2013 to 2016. Quantitative trend analysis was employed on the obtained data from the official LET results released by the Profession Regulation Commission (PRC). The results revealed that there is an increasing trend on the LET performance ratings of elementary education graduates and the accumulated LET performance ratings of the respondents surpassed the National Passing Percentage. In all examinations, the first time takers outperformed the repeaters. However, the decreasing trend on the performance of first timers and the increasing trend on the performance of combined first timers and repeaters show that the performance of the former is declining while that of the latter is improving. Findings of the study were considered in the proposed intensified LET review for the education graduates.
